St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church
About
The St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church serves as a beacon of faith for the Armenian community of Toronto. The church was officially established in 1983, and the first Holy Mass was celebrated on Sunday, April 10, 1983. Services were conducted at St. Augustine Anglican Church until a new church was built. On May 27, 1990 the new building was consecrated and its first Holy Mass was celebrated for its newly built altar and the church was officially named St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church.
The St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church has both junior and senior choirs, ten auxiliaries and committees and over 250 volunteers. The church is very active in community matters, including providing assistance to elderly community members and the needy. The St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church also stays true to its Christian mission by holding weekly Bible study session and providing Sunday school education to the community’s children. Throughout the year, the church Pastor and Board of Trustees organize several events including concerts, dinners, bazaars, and a yearly summer festival.
Finally, the church actively participates in inter-denominational activities with its sister churches and continues to be an integral part of the Armenian community of Toronto.
